McGrady Should Retire

I'm just saying.

At this point, after so many surgeries, McGrady essentially has the body of someone 10 years older than him, if not worse. He is a detriment, even a cancer to the success of the Houston Rockets. The dream of Yao and McGrady teaming up to win a title is dead, and Houston needs to recognize that fact and move on. McGrady should be considered a giant 2010 expiring contract and nothing more, because at this point, that's all he is.

I mean, microfracture surgery? At 29, soon to be 30, on knees and legs that have seen more operations than a Trauma Center game?

The most I could ever see him being after this surgery is having a Grant Hill-like comeback...as a roleplayer, playing 20-30 minutes a night, and being more of a locker room guy than an on-the-court presence.

  1. I don't think McGrady is done yet. The reason is because of his track record. Name a year where he didn't play injured at least part of the season. It's almost impossible. I think his decision to shut it down and allow plenty of recovery time could benefit him greatly especially since he is getting older. Having time to rest can greatly change one's physical standing. But, yeah, he's potentially going to lose everything in this next season.

  2. I think if he does come back after a long break he'll still be a crock and won't be able to be nearly the player he was even if he can last half a season. I think he's done and i feel bad for the rockets for putting so much of the team into him and it totally not working out. What if they went after another free agent and not T-mac so long ago. Who knows how good the Rockets would have been.
