T4 Trailer
Click the title link for a slightly crisper version. Here's the new sweetness from Terminator Salvation. An interesting little twist I was unaware of with the beginning of the machines' use of [engage Ahnud voice] CYBERNETIC ORGANISMS [disengage] and the ramifications of such a tactic. This and the new Trek trailer are playing in front of Watchmen this weekend. I'm going to the midnight showing on Thursday with a bunch of REI people. I hope no one dresses up as Dr. Manhattan...

I'm sorry, I just can't get excited for this movie. I just can't. I don't really have any logical explanation for why, and any argument i can come up with is sort of half-assed, but I just don't have much interest. It just doesn't feel like it's holding true to the spirit of the old Terminator movies.

I'm pretty stoked for this movie. I think it has a lot of potential. I can see where you're coming from, Matt, but I don't feel this movie can be like the originals simply because the entire objective has changed. Also, the pressing force of the unchangeable is probably why it doesn't feel the same. I'm excited regardless. Plus, I've always been curious about what happens after Judgment Day.
I retract my statement about the movie going down a level for potrentially rated PG-13. Nowadays, you can still show a lot of violence and have the movie very dark, without an R rating. Look at the newer Batman movies, especially The Dark Knight. That is so dark and you don't even think about the rating. On the other hand, they're only allowed to use one "fuck" in the movie. Again, PG-13 movies have made real life enviornments believable without cussing a fuckload. I think Die Hard was such a disappointment because cussing was a main staple of the character. That's like saying you can't cut away human skin to reveal metal underneath in a Terminator movie. Now that would piss me right off. So, I concluded that I'm back on board the T4 train.
